Quality is non-negotiable and we should all know what good looks like
Similar to the manifesto created for agile development practices, it is important that a similar artefact is maintained for testing activities. This not only gives credibility to the testing activities but clearly outlines what our values and preferences are when it comes to testing in an agile led solution delivery lifecyles. As was the case with the agile manifesto, the agile testing manifesto is the foundation upon which we will build out all our practices as we transition your business into this new way of product delivery. We have clear principles that we align our day to day practices to.
Quality is non-negotiable and we should all know what good looks like
Agile methods highlight that quality is always held constant and time is fixed so if anything must change, it must be scope. As these methods are about incremental delivery on a frequent basis, there should be no desire to overload the sprints nor should the teams involved in delivery ever feel that they need to deliver beyond their capacity. When this happens, quality suffers since the deadline almost always remains constant. Measuring good is not only about the quality of the solution that we deliver but also applies to the practices we undertake. The list below provides insight into the four areas that we should consider in assessing how good we are at delivering business value:
COLLABORATE EARLY
FEEDBACK OFTEN
We collaborate to determine the best possible way forward. We are involved early in the process straight through to the end. We employ methods to shorten the feedback cycle.
FREQUENT INCREMENTAL RELEASES
We release incrementally and frequently. Our processes support this type of delivery and we are constantly refining and improving our code, our processes and ourselves.
Governance is part of the way we work. We create the right artefacts to satisfy many needs. These are lightweight in nature & provide the necessary evidence to satisfy interested parties
QUALITY IS SECOND NATURE AND PART OF US
Quality is in our DNA. We have the same quality mindset. We have a common understanding of the words we use. It is ok to fail once we learn and improve from that failure.
APPRECIATE THE ENVIRONMENT THAT WE WORK IN
